The Open World Forum is talking about BonitaSoft. During the opening keynote, Andrew Aitken (Olliance Group) referred to BonitaSoft as an example of a new, high-potential company in the international open source market.
Olivier Rafal reflects on this in his post on “Le Monde Informatique:”
According to stakeholders, “open” is the best way to start a software business – provided that the value delivered by being open source is clearly demonstrated, “as BonitaSoft has done,” said Andrew Aitken – and results in saving, or at least optimizes the budget.
The BonitaSoft team was actively participating to this major open source event. Rodrigue Le Gall was presenting a Bonita customer use case at the OW2 session in which he also provided some insights of the next version of the product.
On my side, I was invited to some interesting round tables, networking meetings and conferences in which I met with great people from Talend, JasperSoft, SugarCRM, OpenBravo, Nuxeo, Linagora, Smile, InfoBright, Microsoft, HP… I specially appreciated the Think Tank session discussions around open source business models and licences as well as the evening reception which focused on open source companies and VCs networking.
The Open World Forum Conference was also a good place to meet with journalists covering the first round of funding of $3 million. I got some nice interviews there from specialised and generalist medias at the press room. We will provide a detailed description of this coverage in a separate post.
